The Media Show: Entertainment Shows

cake-1_FotorThis week’s Media Show on Radio 4 included an interesting discussion on the future of entertainment television shows. The link is below, listen from 12 minutes in.

In it you’ll hear how the biggest shows right now seem downright ridiculous on paper. A pre-recorded show, filmed in a tent where people bake cakes was the biggest show in the UK last year. You’ll also hear how the BBC realised that over-plannning, over-filtering and focus groups were killing off the good ideas.

Have a listen, tell me what you think.
